Kate Middleton accessories: Shoes
Whether she is attending a glitzy Hollywood event, a posh horse race, grocery shopping, or simply walking her new puppy Lupo on the beach, Kate Middleton always has the perfect shoes for the occasion. For formal events, the Duchess prefers a classic pump, most often from British designers like LK Bennett and Rupert Sanderson. Her LK Bennett taupe pumps caused a sensation last summer as she wore them throughout her Canada tour. This down-to-earth Duchess does her own grocery shopping and usually does so in favorite ballet flat, London Sole, the British answer to Repetto. And when she is ready to get a little down and dirty, and heading into nature for a hunting session or to walk her puppy, Kate sports a true British classic: the rubber boot. Her brand of choice is Le Chameau, an English label with a French name, dating back to 1927.
The Duchess owns only a handful of handbags — she is more of a shoe fiend. It’s probably the reason that the bags she chooses are timeless classics. Take, for example, her two Mulberry “Polly” gravel push-lock satchels, a simple black bag that she toted on her trip to Canada last summer. Another classic bag that Kate loves is Tod's ‘D’ bag, named after Princess Diana – a sweet fashion tribute to her late mother-in-law. For most occasions, the Duchess doesn’t need anything more substantial than a clutch, because we’re sure that the Queen-to-be doesn’t need to lug much around. She often turns to LK Bennett’s classic clutches, owning one in pretty much every colour. On her visit to Canada, Kate surprised everyone with a very unconventional and delightful fan clutch by Anya Hindmarch, pairing it with that adorable maple leaf fascinator.
